  • He remembered! :)

  • On Grandiose Verbosity, Monday, I wrote about The Internet and a New World Order. I wrote how this tool has the potential to enlighten and guide free thinkers around the world, to bring change to oppressive societies, to give The Dream a voice.

Today, I stumbled across an instance where that is already happening in China. One blogger, Han Han, has become "the outspoken voice of a younger generation." In a country which prides itself in its extraordinary national unity, Han Han is finding happiness by being different.

The article goes on to explain how the Internet is changing China's future. I hope you'll take time to read it. I thought its closing comments were particularly relevant:

"A reporter once characterised his [Han Han's] anti-establishment and individualistic nature as “westernised” and asked: 'How did you become like this?'

'I don’t think things can be called easternised or westernised,' he answered. 'There is only one standard -- whether it’s suitable for human beings.'"
